I'm Going To Be a Grandpa...or as my friend Brad says a Grand Dad!
I have a wonderful announcement...My oldest daughter Bethany who is married to Casey Jackman just announced they are having a BABY! Due September 4th 2009.
I am going to be a grand Dad because I am the grandest of them all.

Out 1 year in Buenos Aires Argentina...6 months to go!
My Daughter Elissa will be home in August. It seems like a long time ago that she left...on the other hand I can't believe she has been gone for a year. It all started with this sending away party! This is a photo with some of my friends and Elissa and my wife Susan and I.
Then she had to go to the Mission Training center to learn to speak Spanish for about 6 weeks.
September 2008 she celebrated her Birthday with mission friends and people who she built relationships with.
Now we are in February 2009 and she only has 6th months to go. This is a picture of her with her missionary companion. She has taught a lot of people about a special message. Here is

Fun Picture of New Years Weekend in Utah with our daughters and son in law!
We just finished lunch and were looking at a new package we got from Elissa our daughter who is on a mission in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She sent us some popular music CD's from that country along with some chocolate from their local area. Plus, we had a great time on this day as we were spending the day together as we were helping Kendra (pictured in the back next to me) settle in for another semester of College. From left to right...Casey (Bethany's husband), Jim, Kendra, Janelle, Susan, Bethany. I certainly am blessed with a wonderful family who is so intelligent and well grounded!

This is my beautiful family.
Did you know that this is what is most important to me?
My family is who inspires me.
Bethany and her husband Casey live in Provo, Utah where Casey is completing his Masters Degree at BYU this year. Casey took an internship in Denver during the summer of 2008 and spent two months at our home. It was much fun to have them around. Bethany is working full-time at BYU, while also becoming an accomplished wedding photographer.
Elissa is serving an 18-month LDS mission in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She will return home in August of 2009! She is sharing a message of faith while teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She serves and teaches everyone she comes in contact with. She is doing wonderfully, we are so proud of her. Kendra is a sophomore at BYU in Provo, Utah. Before she chooses a major, she is enjoying a variety classes, including French, art, and theatre. She is having a successful and fun year.
Janelle is a sophomore at Columbine high school this year. She loves her classes and is especially enjoying choir, theatre, and music. We are so happy to have her at home and are seizing the moments each day since we can’t believe that in a few short years she will graduate and empty our nest!

Estes Park Western Photo
My youngest daughter Janelle got to go to Estes Park over Spring break with her friends. They took one of those Western photo's. Have you ever done that? Today we were able to go Downtown Denver and go to the Art Museum. It was a lot of fun. Then we went to one of our favorite restaurant's:

New Years Day Photo's...Great Day in the snow on a beautiful sunny day in Colorado!
We took a wonderful day and played in the snow. Here is Elissa building up her heart coming back to get us...she was so eager to go fast!

We Snow shoe'd to the Castle:
Former Cosmopolitan Magazine owner John Brisben Walker built a castle here, but the home burned down in 1918 when it was struck by lightning. All that remains are the massive stone walls and fireplaces.
We saw the best views anywhere you could find on the planet!
All in all this little trip made the start of 2008 the best it could be.

Some photos I was looking at today!
Today my oldest daughter Bethany asked me to scan and e-mail her some of her photos. These go back to about 1989 or 1990 or so. These photos are of Bethany, Elissa and Kendra my three oldest. These kids are just so cute and adorable! I love children and the joy they brought to me and the joy they bring to me today. This is my motivation. Today I learned about what 5 qualities you should desire when hiring "A" players.
1) Integrity...scores a 5!
2) Motivation...scores a 4!
3) Capacity...scores a 3
4) Skill...scores a 2
5) Experience...scores a 1
Just look at the order of this. I had been finding myself looking at the experience as the most important. Wow...was I ever "stinking thinking." It was also suggested that you ask 3 others that are "A" players to interview this same person you believe is a "A" player to confirm they really are before you hire them.
